REMEMBRANCE DAY EVENT SUNDAY 13 NOVEMBER

119

The British Embassy and the Gambia Legion will commemorate Remembrance Day event on Sunday 13 November starting at 10:45 a.m. at The Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Kairaba Avenue, Fajara.

The Gambia Legion was founded by veterans of the First World War, who like all Legions, adopted the poppy as their symbol of Remembrance and hope. Today the Legion is at the forefront of the commemorations.  A statement from the embassy as we come together in Remembrance of events a century ago, we are reminded of the important work the Gambia Legion continues to provide.

To support this cause, poppies can be obtained via a donation from the following locations: British Embassy Consular Reception, Coco Ocean Hotel, Fajara Club, Gambia Experience, Gaya Art Cafe, Kairaba Hotel, Ngala Lodge, Marouns Supermarket, Ocean Bay Hotel, Reo’s, Sea Shells, Senegambia Hotel, Standard Chartered Bank, 3 Chicks & a Grill and Xpress Supermarket.
