Local Gambian club Real De Banjul’s Julaba Sawaneh has left the shores of
the country on trial to Denmark, Foroyaa Sport can reveal.
Sawaneh, a defender, is in the Scandinavian country after being
offered chance to impress and sign professional terms with Danish
Super Liga giants OB Odense. The 23-year-old touched down at Odense -Denmark’s third largest city –
last week Thursday.
The trial is believed to be facilitated by Swede Michael Kallback
who’s also agent to former Real de Banjul pair Bubacarr Sanneh,
Bubacarr Trawally and on-loan winger Famara Jarju, a source close to
Gambian club divulged to Foroyaa Sport this week.
Sawaneh, an ex-Seaview FC man, is a robust mammoth defensive starlet
with experience in the CAF Champions League preliminary round and has
also played for Gambia U-20s in 2012.
Real de Banjul has yet to publicly announce the player’s departure.
Should Julaba convince coaches there of his worth, he would be the
third player to play in Denmark via Real de Banjul.
Also, Sawaneh could be the second Gambian in Odense books after Njogu
Demba who departed the side 2011 should he broker a deal.
