By Sulayman Bah Gambia League champions Real de Banjul’s defender Buba Sanneh has signed a loan deal with Danish second tier siBuba Sannehde AC Horsens. Sanneh who was the stand-out in defence in the Gambia-Tanzania match, has been an invaluable asset for the capital-based side since joining them in the 2010/2011 domestic league season. Though details of the contract remains undisclosed including the agreed sum, Real de Banjul president Willy Abraham expressed delight on the sale of ‘the best central defender in the country for the last three years.’ Willy told the RDB site: “We are very happy in Buba because he is a top player in the country and is one of the best in the region. His achievement of winning the national league title twice since he joined us at least speaks for itself. He is currently the best central defender in the country for the last three years!” “I believe Horsens have one of the best emerging young defenders to come out of Gambia and Africa in particular. We think he will do well at the club, without an iota of doubt. There has been a lot of interest around Scandinavia for him and even elsewhere, but we think this choice is the best for his development.” He is the current captain of the team and guided it to its second title in two years in the recently concluded League Division One season. The defender, who has represented the Gambia U20, U23 and senior national team on various occasions, possesses good ball control qualities, is powerful in the air and possesses good leadership qualities. AC Horsens is fifth-placed in the 12-team Danish second tier league.]]>
