A press release from the State House, Banjul, in the West African state of the Gambia broadcast over state owned Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) June 1, informs that President Yahya Jammeh, acting on the powers vested on him by Section 71(3) and 71(4) of the Gambia Constitution, has appointed Mr. Abdoulie Sallah as Secretary General and Minister for Presidential Affairs.
In the same vein, the president has moved Mr. Momodou Sabally from the position of Secretary General of the Gambia Civil Service and Presidential Affairs Minister to the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.
According to the Release, the appointment is with effect from the 1st of July 2014.
Mr. Momodou Sabally has been handling the position of Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service since June 10th 2013. Before then he was the Director of Budget, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.
