Police Gathering Evidence to Prosecute Senegambia Murder Suspect

Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Modou Musa Sisawo, the spokesperson for the Gambia Police Force (GPF) on Monday said they are still gathering evidence to prosecute the Senegambia murder suspect.

“He is still in custody. Our detectives are still investigating,” ASP Sisawo said.

The suspect is a 35-year-old Gambian. He is Modou Lamin Jallow of Manjai. 

PRO Sisawo stated that they will arraign him before the court once they have sufficient evidence linking him to the alleged incident.

On the 25th of April 2024, the body of the victim was discovered near Mansea Beach along the Senegambia strip. 

The police identified the deceased as Sainey Jassey but have not yet established the motive of the murder. The police believe that the suspect was interacting with the victim.

PRO Sisawo urged members of the public to share information regarding the case to help police in their investigations.
