Three Senegalese men were on 11th May 2020, arrested by Police at Jufureh in North Bank Region (NBR) after they were caught entering The Gambia through the sea, a source told Foroyaa.
Police Spokesman, ASP Lamin Njie, confirmed the arrest of these individuals.
He said: “They are a group of six individuals who claimed to be fishermen.”
According to Police spokesman ASP Njie, those arrested were handed over to health personnel for screening and quarantine. He said necessary legal action against the men will follow.
“We solicit from the public around Jufureh NBR to report or volunteer information on the whereabouts of the other three persons,’’ he appealed.
Dr. Mustapha Bittaye, the Director of Health Services at the Ministry of Health has also confirmed the arrest of these individuals by the Police and Immigration. He added that the trio have been moved to the isolation centre in the North Bank Region.
