The community of Keseeri Kunda village in Upper Fulladu West District of the Central River Region (CRR) were on Tuesday, 14 December, 2021 handed a borehole dug by one philanthropist in the person of Kemo Kamara.
Speaking at handing over, Kamara told the community of Keseeri Kunda that the borehole was funded by his brother to support their community with portable water. He advised them to take good care of the borehole so that it will serve them for a long period of time.
“I had your pleas from King FM Radio read through Foroyaa newspaper, when they visited your village and reported that the water from your well cannot be used for drinking. I discussed with my brother to intervene to remedy the situation,” he said.
The village Alkalo, Kebba Baldeh, expressed his profound gratitude to Foroyaa newspaper for publishing their plight which led to the help from the philanthropist. This, he said, will ensure they live a dignified life and improve the standard of their lives and livelihoods.
“We have never thought of having safe drinking water for our own use including our domestic animals. But through this wonderful initiative by Kemo and his brother, the borehole will transform our lives and livelihoods,” he noted.
Several speakers who spoke at the ceremony expressed their delight towards the gesture.
