Bangladesh-based Gambian coach Omar Sise has accepted a coaching job
offered to him by Gambia Football Federation.
Sise was among three Gambian coaches offered positions to take up the managerial positions of Gambia’s U-20, U-17 and U-23/ teams. The other two are Bonu Johnson and Matarr Mboge, who have both began
work since to prepare for the coming friendly against Mauritania,
slated for March 27th.
Omar, the erstwhile Dinamo Zagreb youth team product, was appointed
pending his acceptance of the proposal.
But a reliable source at the GFF disclosed that the 38-year-old – the
only known Gambian coaching in Asia – has finally nodded to the offer
by sending his acceptance on Tuesday.
Sise, who also had stints in Switzerland and Slovenia while being a
footballer, will be handling the Gambia U-20s.
Currently the coach of Feni Soccer Club, an outfit trading the
Bangladesh Premier League, Omar was voted coach of the year last year
in the eastern Asia top tier.
While in Bangladesh he had helped a number of Gambian players with
contracts to clubs there.]]>
