By Sulayman Bah Gambia’s Omar Colley has agreed a deal with Djurgården of the Swedish Premier League, Foroyaa Sport can report. Fondly christened OJ and formerly of Wallidan and Real de Banjul, Colley’s contract will come to take effect 1st January 2015 when he ’ll officially join his new team-mates, but at the moment remains with Finnish giants KuPS until end of his current contract which runs out at the end of the 2014 season. There had been protracted negotiations over reaching an agreement for the player between KUPS and the erstwhile Swedish league champions, but the process was delayed by fee and personal terms. The Finnish club were reluctant to let go the Gambian who, through out his stay, has been an invaluable asset at the back-four for the Black and yellows and remains very much in coach Taipale plans as KuPS launches an audacious Europa League spot. Omar Colley has had trials with two Germany second tier clubs in the space of nine months. He was closed to signing the dotted lines with ArminiaBelefeld following an impressive audition, but row over his price tag scuppered the move. KuPS confirmed the move while voicing satisfaction over the outcome of the talks. ]]>
