The National Assembly is scheduled to commence the third ordinary session, today Monday, 9 September 2024.
The session as indicated by the Office of the Clerk, is expected to run from 9th September to 27 September 2024.
This information is contained in a press release issued by the Office of the Honorable Clerk of the National Assembly.
“The Office of the Clerk wishes to inform the general public that the Third Ordinary Session of the National Assembly, in the 2024 Legislative Year shall be convened for the period Monday 9th to 27th September 2024,” the Office of the Clerk announces.
According to the office, Hon. Members will consider Government businesses, questions to Ministers for oral answers, reports of the various legislative committees and parliamentary delegations of the National Assembly, motions and bills during the period.
The Office said: “The daily sitting of the Assembly also commences at10:00 am prompt. All those who wish to attend the daily sittings are requested to obtain admittance from the Office of the Clerk”.
It reminded the public to comply with the standard dress code (traditional suit) required and to observe the silence rule during the proceedings of the session.
Meanwhile, according to the revised order paper for Monday, the National Assembly instead of the Ministerial statement by the Finance Minister, on the implementation and monitoring of the annual budget, will continue the consideration of the Criminal Offences Bill 2020.
The continuation of the consideration of the Criminal Offences Bill 2020 is scheduled to be moved by the Minister for Justice, Dawda Jallow, in line with Standing Order 72 of the National Assembly.
