The National Assembly has on Sunday 1st August 2021 commenced a thirty-one day (a month) statutory annual recess. The recess will end on Tuesday 31st August, 2021.
The office of the clerk of the assembly said in a presser that during the period, the office of the Clerk would not entertain any official engagements with National Assembly Members. The assembly further said all parliamentary activities will be suspended to allow lawmakers to proceed on vacation.
“During this period all plenary and committee sessions, businesses and activities of the National Assembly will be suspended to allow Honorable Members proceed on vacation.
“All Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Partners and the General Public are hereby informed that the National Assembly will resume business effective 01st September, 2021. Accordingly, the Office of the Clerk shall not entertain any official engagement with NAMs during the said period,” the office of the clerk stated.
The clerk’s office while wishing all national assembly members a happy vacation, said the cooperation and understanding of all and sundry is solicited.
