There would be a Gambian involved in today’s Uefa Champions League tie between Shakftar Donetsk of Ukraine and Atalanta.
The last time a Gambian starred in what is Europe’s best club competition was nine years ago in a certain spaghetti-legged Momodou Ceesay when he spurred Slovakia’s Zilina to the group stages.
However, today will feature a different Gambian in young striker Musa Barrow whose Serie A season-wonder-makers Atalanta will be playing host to Donetsk as they plot snatching their first points.
Atalanta lost their opening fixture to Croatia Premier League moneybags Dinamo Zagreb.
Barrow was only considered good enough for involvement two minutes to end of game time as they got whitewashed in Zagreb.
He will be eyeing more minutes today as gaffer Gasperini faces a torrid time of balancing both domestic league and the Uefa CL duties.
