By Sulayman Bah Ruled out for close to seven months, Gambia’s Momodou Ceesay is back on the pitch after recovering from a knee injury. Ceesay missed out the majority of last season forcing him to go under the knife on his left anterior cruciate ligament – a procedure led by professor Mariani. The 25-year-old picked the injury in a domestic league match for Kazakhstan premier league giants Kairat in a 1-0 defeat to Ordabasy in May getting subbed after 55 minutes. The ex-U-17 ace, who, got to score five goals in eleven matches the previous campaign, having undergone a successful operation, was taken to Italy where he did his rehabilitation. Momodou Ceesay has since recuperated and over the weekend featured in his club’s pre-season training drills. Earlier this month he was in action along with a handful of the country’s on-holiday foreign-based players including Ousman Jallow in a charity match for defender Pa Modou Jagne’s Foundation at the Banjul mini-stadium. ]]>
