Metta Njie (Mother of Lt. Col. Sanneh) Missing for 36 Days Now

By Kebba Jeffang The disappearance of Mrs. Metta Njie, the mother of Lieutenant Colonel Lamin Col. Lamin SannehSanneh, the former Commanding officer at State House who was killed at the 30th December, 2014 attack on State house, clocks 36 days and no family member is allowed access to her. The family members are concerned that they do not know Metta’s whereabouts since her arrest on the 1st January, 2015. They are appealing for her release. It could be recalled that the mother was said to have been picked up by operatives who claimed to be working for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) at her residence in Fajikunda Dumos  on the 1st January, 2015. After 32 days, the family members said, “We are renewing our call on the authorities to release our relative. We have been traumatized by her disappearance because she is aging and plays a crucial role in the family as a leader,” the source added.  ]]>
