A family source indicated that he was picked up from a friend’s home at Latrikunda German late in the night on Friday, 17 July 2015. The source added that an official had called Mr Sisay and suggested that they meet at a friend’s house in Latrikunda which he did. Upon arriving at the friends home, Mr Sisay was whisked away by uniformed and plain clothes officers. Sources also say that Mr Sisay’s home was visited on Tuesday, 21 July and his medications and medical papers were taken along. Mr Sisay had been receiving treatment from a private clinic after his release on 13 July 2015 by his abductors who kidnapped him on 2 July 2015. The Gambia Press Union had issued a statement calling for the immediate release of Abdoulie Ceesay. A family source said since he was bundled into a vehicle by unidentified men on 17 July 2015, Mr Ceesay has been placed under incommunicado detention. He added that Mr Ceesay’s family and colleagues have been unable to access him and that different people had been at the NIA on three occasions but were denied access.
