Talib Ahmed Bensouda, Mayor of the Kanifing Municipality on Wednesday, 3rd July 2024, donated three-hundred and thirty (330) bags of cement to several schools, women groups and a community in the Central River Region (CRR).
This, according to the Mayor, is in fulfillment of the commitment that he made during a nationwide tour by the UDP Campaign and Organizing Committee.
During the presentation ceremony, several beneficiaries, including the IMAM AN-NAWAWI QURANIC MEOMRISATION SCHOOL in Ebo Town, received 200 bags; the women of Foni-Bondali received 100 bags for the construction of their market; 30 bags to Dobong – Kunda in CRR for the construction of a footbridge.
Mayor Bensouda renewed his commitment to helping the Gambian people.
“This is just the beginning, we will fulfill all our promises to the other remaining communities as time goes on,” he said.
Speaking to beneficiaries at the school grounds in Ebo Town, the Mayor urges the school authorities to ensure that their surroundings are always clean.
