Madi Jobarteh has been arrested by the police at his residence in the early hours of yesterday. This comes after he was invited by the police four days ago on October 6, 2023, for questioning about his comments and posts on social media.
The police had warned him that if he did not comply and appear for questioning, they would be forced to take necessary action, which included arresting him at his residence.
After waiting for three hours, the police visited his residence and questioned him about the post he had shared online . Madi sought further details about the exact post in question.
Subsequently, the police requested Madi Jobarteh to report to the police headquarters or the nearest station once he fully recovered from his illness.
On Monday, as early as 07:00 hours, the police picked up Madi from his residence and transported him to the Anti-crime unit in Jabang, where he was questioned about an article published in the local newspapers.
According to a family member, Madi informed him that he had not been charged with an offence and was only questioned about his publication.
