QUESTION OF THE DAY

IS THERE A NEW PARTY LED BY MAMA KANDEH?

This was a rumour for a long time. Within a period of three months, many people claim that influential people from the APRC and others were being recruited. Now everything appears dormant.

However, the IEC has not given any indication in its correspondence to political parties that there is a new party.

Foroyaa was waiting for the inauguration of the new party but nothing of that sort has happened.  Interestingly, enough the APRC recently held a meeting in Conteh Nianija and claim that it has won back women from their party who they claim held Kandeh as their father. However, Mama Kandeh has not made any official declaration of presidential candidature.

Is the APRC capitalizing on an existing political vacuum to regain control of members who were ready to jump ship?

The opposition should avoid politics of patronage. Such type of politics leads to the shift of loyalties by minutes and seconds based on who could offer more patronage. No one could rival a ruling party when it comes to patronage. However, Senegal teaches that once a people are resolved patronage does not work.

Foroyaa will do more investigation about the new party
