QUESTION OF THE DAY
IS THE GOVERNMENT USING STATE FUNDS FINANCE THE JULY 22 FANFARE?
It is very clear that the July 22 fanfare is monopolised by the APRC. In all the activities only the APRC stalwarts are given prominence. One cannot see any distinction between a party activity and a state activity.
65 million dalasi has been allocated by the National Assembly for national celebrations. We will wait and see how much of this has been spent on the July 22 celebrations when an institution like the IEC is badly in need of a generator. They are entirely depending on NAWEC as a source of electricity. It is amazing that all the work of the IEC must come to a halt whenever NAWEC engages in load shedding.
One wonders why so much money is spent on celebration when institutions need essential equipment to function efficiently and effectively.
