IS THE GOVERNMENT REACTING TO FOROYAA’S REPORT OF DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL?

QUESTION OF THE DAY

The tendency of the Jammeh administration to react to Foroyaa’s reports on detention without trial was to release some and arrest others without break. This is why it was guilty of impunity.

During the campaign of the coalition to remove the Jammeh administration the electorate received the promise that detention without trial will be a thing of the past.

In yesterday’s edition Foroyaa reported the case of soldiers who are currently detained without trial. After the publication it was reported that Staff Sergeant Musa Johnson should not have been on the list because he had been released. Foroyaa will meet his family to confirm the release.

We hope the Barrow administration will keep to its promise of zero tolerance to detention without trial and disappearance without trace.
