IS HONOURABLE HAMAT BAH A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR THE NRP?
The Foroyaa Editorial of yesterday 20 September 2016 did mentioned that five people are now nominated to be either presidential candidate by their parties or as an independent presidential candidate.
This was due to the fact that no public launching or pronouncement of the candidature of Hon Hamat Bah has been done so far. This is why this paper has contacted Honourable Hamat Bah to find out whether he is a presidential candidate. Speaking on his behalf his deputy Mr Musa Sonko indicated that since Honourable Hamat Bah is out of the jurisdiction he could safely confirm that he is the presidential candidate for the NRP. All Gambians should therefore know currently there are six opposition presidential candidates, namely in alphabetical order, Hon. Hamat Bah NRP, Mr Adama Barrow UDP, Dr Lamin Bojang NCP, Hon. Mamma Kandeh GDC, Mr Halifa Sallah PDOIS and Dr Isatou Touray Independent. Foroyaa has been informed that negotiation is still ongoing to select one person from the opposition to contest with the APRC presidential candidate in forthcoming presidential election slated for 1 December 2016.
