Gambia’s Ibou Sawaneh recuperated from a dislocated left elbow to make
up Waasland Beveren’s substitutes’ bench, Foroyaa Sport can report.
Attacking-minded Ebrahima two weeks ago left the pitch grimacing in
agony after just forty-six minutes against league newcomers Royal
Mouscron-Peruwelz.The 28-year-old, who in 2013, courted the eyes of St Etienne, Utretch,
Reading, Bayer Leverkusen and an audacious tempting bid from Esperance
du Tunis, consequently missed out in his club (Beveren’s) 2-1 thrashing
of promoted Westerlo.
The ex-Kortijk man, considered an invaluable asset in Beveren’s line
up despite scoring only once so far this term, caused panic to the
club coach when he was hauled off at halftime amid initial fears of
lengthy lay-off.
However, Ibou has now recovered and returned to the fold last Saturday
but with the soaring number of injuries at the club gaffer Van decided
against using him just yet in a welcomed exercise of circumspection.
Ibou joined this season on an undisclosed sum from relegated OH Leuven.
