Foroyaa has been reliably informed by an authority at that the IEC Chairman, Mr Alieu Momarr Njai, is to end his tenure of office in March 2025. Who his replacement would be should now preoccupy the nation.
The position of Chairman of the IEC is of tremendous importance. The office is responsible for the conduct and declaration of results of presidential elections. Hence those who occupy it should not be under the control of any person or authority, but the Constitution and other laws of The Gambia.
