IEC COMMENCES VOTING CARDS REPLACEMENT EXERCISE

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has commenced a four months long voting cards replacement exercise yesterday, IEC Chairman Alieu Momar Njie1 June 2016, in a bid to enable those whose cards are lost, mutilated, burnt or defaced to vote in the forthcoming elections, according to a press release.

This exercise will last until 29th September 2016 and is being conducted at Election House along Bertil Harding Highway and the seven IEC Regional Offices in Banjul, Kanifing, Brikama, Kerewan, Mansakonko, Janjangbureh and Basse.

The release noted that the exercise is carried out in accordance with Section 38 of the Elections Act.

It further stated that the replacement of voting cards attracts a fee of one hundred dalasi (D100.00).
