Voters in the Sareh Ngai Ward in Wuli West will be going to the polls on Thursday, 28 April 2016 to elect a new Councillor in a by-election following the demise of the former Ward Councillor Mr. Menkeh Ebrima Barrow.
According to a press release issued by the Commission, this election will be contested by Mr. Karamao Touray of the APRC and Mr. Lamin Fatty, an Independent Candidate.
The release indicated that in accordance with the Elections Amendment Act 2015, the polls will open at 8am and close at 5pm, adding that the counting of votes will be done immediately after the close of polls and collation of the results at the IEC Basse Regional Office.
IEC further announces that “For this by-election, those registered during the 2016 supplementary registration of voters will not be able to vote for there are still legal requirements to be fulfilled with the supplementary voter list.”
