QUESTION OF THE DAY
HOW FAR HAS THE OPPOSITION GONE WITH THEIR NEGOTIATIONS?
It is reliably learnt that an EU Parliamentary delegation has paid a visit to The Gambia on a fact finding mission and has met all sectors of society, including both sides of the political divide and the media.
It is gathered that they met all the six presidential candidates. Readers would recall that a conference of presidential candidates kicked off on 14 September 2016 and the information received from interviews by the press is the plan to reconvene within a week. Consultation appears to be in progress for the holding of the next meeting. There is growing public interest in the meeting of the presidential candidates.
The general view is that they should all attend their next meeting and speed up their negotiations to select a flag bearer for the 1 December 2016 presidential election.
