By Sulayman Bah Local Gambian club Hawks’ midfielder Yusupha Bobb has turned professional after having inked a deal in Italy. The Gambia U-20 play-maker joins Serie A club Chievo Verona where he reunites with countryman Ali Sowe who is expected to play this year in the first team after he was on loan to three second division clubs. 19-year-old Bobb moved to the Italian side, dubbed Flying Donkeys, after impressing club scouts, while on an outing for Gambia’s U-19 in the Umbria tournament reportedly last year. Yusupha can comfortably play with either foot. Gaffer Sang Ndong was inaccessible for comment but a club source told Foroyaa Sport: “He is going there as a future star. The club has been particular about signing him. He’s a talent they expect will blossom soon.” While Bobb’s acquisition increases the number of Gambians in the club, with three already in there, the Scorpion young international becomes the first player in seven years from Hawks FC to sign a contract abroad after Omar Koroma. Yusupha will start the forthcoming campaign on loan at the Italian second division club AS Cittadella.]]>
