Gunjur United Beat Immigration FC 2-1 in 2nd Division Opener

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) League Division Two began on Wednesday and Gunjur United were among the winners in week one after crushing Immigration FC 2-0 at the Brikama’s Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Goals from Pa Assan Barrow and Abdoulie Jassy were enough to earn the Kombo South based team a vital victory on the opening day of the second division league.

Elsewhere, Tallinding United also opened their account with a convincing 3-1 win over B4U Kiang West at the Soma Mini Stadium. Elite United on the other hand were held to a 1-1 by Jarra West at the Live Yours Dreams Field in Basori.

Meanwhile, matches continue today (Thursday) in week one fixtures where Bombada will open their campaign at home to Latrikunda United at the Box Bar Mini Stadium, while BST Galaxy, formerly Dibba Oil, will play against Kanifing East at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Yundum.

In the same Thursday, newcomers Hart FC and TMT FC will battle it out in their maiden appearance in the second division following their qualifications through the triangulars at the Soma Mini Stadium. And the final match will be relegated side GPA against Jam City at the Banjul Mini Stadium.
