The Alkalo of Gunjur in Kombo South District, West Coast Region, Alhagie Ba Gikki Darboe, has passed away on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 in Dakar, Senegal.
Alkalo Darboe was undergoing treatment in Dakar where he died.
Gunjur is in bereavement as the death of the Alkalo came 12 days after the demise of the Imam Ratib of Gunjur.
The late Alhagie Darboe was a family man, who helped in shaping the lives of hundreds of people. He used the income he generated from his Oil Pumping Station (Shell) in Brikama to help people. This was before he became an Alkalo.
The Alkalo is hailed by the community of Gunjur for his leadership skills and the support he rendered to people.
