The Gambia Police Force (GPF) over the weekend commenced 24 hours patrols and response service within the Greater Banjul and West Coast Region.

“To consolidate the gains of Operation Zero Crime in the fight against crime, The GPF has commenced a 24/7 patrols and response service within the Greater Banjul and West Coast Region,” the police said on its Poliso Magazine, Facebook.

The initiative started on Friday 24th September 2021, with patrols extensively covering the KM and WCR as well as the city of Banjul.

“A toll-free emergency helpline for members of the public to report crime and request for response services will soon be introduced. Consultations with stakeholders to ensure this is at an advanced stage,” the police stated.

The police urged the general public to collaborate and partner in sharing information relating to unusual activities within their communities for quick response and intervention.
