The Governor of West Coast Region, Lamin Sanneh on Tuesday 19th April 2022 confirmed to Foroyaa, that the rumour stating that Musa Amul Nyassi is now appointed new Governor for West Coast Region, is utterly false.

The rumour which has been making rounds on social media since last week indicates that Lamin Sanneh, current Governor for West Coast Region has been relieved from his position and was replaced by Musa Amul Nyassi.

“I have also seen the information on social media and I can confirm to you that the information is utterly false,” Governor Sanneh told this reporter.

Governor Sanneh said if there was a new appointment of Governor in his Region, he would have been the first person to know and that he would have received official notification from the authority that appointed him.

In the same development, Musa Amul Nyassi was also contacted to shed light on the issue. According to Mr. Nyassi, he also saw the information on social media, saying he has not received any official letter suggesting his appointment as new Governor of the West Coast Region.

“I saw the information on social media but I cannot confirm it to anybody because I do not know anything about it,” he told this reporter.

For the information of the reader, Musa Amul Nyassi was elected National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala Constituency in 2017, under the APRC party ticket.

In 2022, he sought re-election under the same party ticket which allied with the NPP of President Adama Barrow, and lost to the Independent candidate, whose camp is supported by former president Jammeh.
