Bakau Interim Sports Committee and their counterparts from the coastal
village of Gunjur were beneficiaries of good will gesture from the
GFF.
At the presentation of cheques amounting to Four Hundred Thousand
Dalasi for the two Nawettan Centres, the Alkalo of Bakau Mr. Doudou Bojang said the donation could not have come at any better time than
now when the Bakau mini stadium is under refurbishment. According to
him, ‘the people of Bakau especially the youths are very grateful for
the donation which is for the improvement of the Bakau mini stadium
and the development of grassroots football.’ He thanked the GFF for
their foresight and congratulated the leadership for the fulfillment
of their pledges.
Members of the Gunjur Sports Committee also expressed delight and
gratitude to the GFF through the Super Nawettan Committee for the
donation which according to them would go a long way to helping youth
and grassroots football in the coastal village. Bakau interim Sports
Committee was presented a cheque for D250,000.00 by the GFF while
Gunjur was handed over D150,000.00 by the Super Nawettan Committee.
Meanwhile the draw for the 2015 Super Nawettan Competition has been
made and there is litmus test for the defending Champions Sere Kunda
East who will face closest neighbours Sere Kunda West in Group A.
