German club trials Omar Colley

By Sulayman Bah Gambia defender Omar Colley has been trialing for a former Omar Colley Bundesliga club with a view to sign a contract, Foroyaa Sport can report. Colley temporary left his Finnish club KuPS to seek for new pastures which saw him took part in a 15-day testing period featuring in a number of test matches for the erstwhile Bundesliga outfit. Kaiserslautern were ardent on getting equipped for the new season as they aim a return to the top flight following their shock relegation and considered the left-back position a role that requires wider options with the ex-Gambia U-20 man then a prime target. This is the second time the left-footed stopper is undertaking trial in Germany with the first been late last year with relegated Arminia Bielefeld. He impressed Arminia’s gaffer but disagreement over transfer fee spoilt the deal with KuPS labeling the 300,000 euros offered by the then second tier side below Omar’s valuation. Formerly of Wallidan and Real de Banjul, Colley will be a free agent bythe end of the league break when his two-year deal –signed in January 2013- will run out and could by then be left with the option of either extending his contract with KuPS or moving to Germany. There has been interest from Finnish champions HJK who already have Demba Savage and MacoumbaKandji in their squad. A move to Norway has also been mooted. Meanwhile, Omar has returned to KuPS and joined team-mate EbrimaSohna in the line up in the teams Sunday defeat to SaineyNyassi’sRoPS.      ]]>
