Gambian player Momodou Ceesay undergoes operation

Ceesay went under the knife last month, it has emerged, a procedure led by professor Mariani on his left anterior cruciate ligament. The Gambian fondly christened Zico, is reported to have picked up the injury in one of his matches for Kazakhstan premier league giants Kairat. Ceesay –who spurred then Slovakian Champions MSK Zilina to the Uefa Champions League – last played for Kairat in a 1-0 defeat to Ordabasy in May in which he was subbed after 55 minutes.
