A Gambian footballer over the weekend endured ‘indescribable’ pain after breaking his ankle, Foroyaa Sport 
can report.
Seejou King, a Danish-born Gambian, was out playing for Cristiano Ronaldo’s former club and Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon reserve side when he got roughed up from behind in a contest against Gil Vicente in the second tier.
The 23-year-old defender was surging up the pitch before his marker tackled him from behind leading to his substitution a minute from break.
‘The pain is indescribable,’ says Seejou who had to be hurried later in the evening for his ankle to be operated.
‘The operation went really well and will be discharged on Wednesday, so spirits are high,- gets stronger back!!!!” the former Nordjaelland stopper said in the aftermath of the procedure.
The left-footer has been a regular for the reserves in the second tier playing fourteen of Sporting Lisbon’s seventeen games, helping them patch at third place in the 24-team league.
King is one of players being considered by Gambia Football Federation for the national team. The footballer himself voiced interest to feature for Gambia’s national team despite starring for Denmark at youth levels.
