By Sulayman Bah Gambia Volleyball Federation has come in for praises for the strides made by the sport in the country.Gambia Volleyball applauded Thriving in a wholly football dominated country, volleyball is slowly closing up the gap in the face of numerous hiccups. The sport has been almost swept off until its reincarnation by the Gambia Volleyball Federation. The country now eyes making an appearance in the African Games in what will be a debut in Congo Brazzaville next month. Already, a project dubbed African Dream project, worth millions and aimed at teaching the game to children between the ages of 8 and14, is on the brink of being finalised. And, for their sudden heights, the federation has been lavished with praises by the Zone II Volleyball head Professor Mamadou Ndoye. “I would like, as the President of Zone 2, to send you my sincere congratulations (to you and your team) for all the efforts and good job you are doing to develop volleyball and beach volleyball in Gambia. The results you showed since last year are enough to prove it. I encourage you to stay in that way which is the only one which leads to a Continental or a World Medal sure that our Zone will profit of such a progress,” said Ndoye, who is Senegalese volleyball federation’s top dog.]]>
