By Sulayman Bah Gambia’s proposed test match with Morocco billed for 12th October has been called off. The Scorpions were due to cross daggers with their North African counterparts in what would have been their first match since CAF revoked the two-year ban imposed on the country. However, the GFF has announced that the tie is called off for ‘technical reason.’ The federation said in a statement yesterday ‘the GFF hereby announces with regret that the proposed friendly international match against Morocco slated for October 12th, 2014 has been called off due to technical reasons. Any inconveniency is deeply regretted.” The news of the friendly broke last month but efforts toward holding the tie has been slowed with question over who coaches the national team still lingering. Gambia last played against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in the WC 2014 qualifiers finishing bottom behind Ivory Coast, Tanzania and Morocco.]]>
