By Sulayman Bah Gambia captain Mustapha Jarju has opted for riches in Kazakhstan signing for top tier side Irtysh Pavlodar, Foroyaa Sport can reveal. Jarju joins Irtysh on an undisclosed sum from their United Arab Emirate feeder club Hatta Club where the Gambian spent the previous season. The attacker, who recently turned 28, becomes the second Gambia international currently trading in the Central Asian country’s premier league after Kairat Almarty’s Momodou Ceesay. Mustapha’s new move comes amid initial reports suggesting a return to Belgian football is possible as he trained with Sint- Truiden to remain in shape ahead of start of the new campaign. However he chose to opt for riches in Kazakhstan’s league and is said to have sought international team-mate Momodou Ceesay’s advice prior to signing the dotted lines. Duration of his contract though remains unclear as we went to press yesterday. The man dubbed Toubabo and Tijan Jaiteh were understandably snubbed for selection for the South Africa game in Durban with both club-less at the time. But with this recent adventure and on account of performance, Mustapha Jarju is expected to return to the national team fold with the GFF reportedly ardent on recalling the former Mons and SK Lierse goal-poacher to add experience to the current crop of modicum of talents in the Scorpions squad.]]>
