GAF Releases Two Soldiers

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has on Monday confirmed the release of two soldiers, who were arrested after fuel coupons worth over D300,000.00 went missing at the Defence Headquarters in Banjul.

The army spokesperson remarked: “We have released two soldiers who were arrested in connection with the fuel coupons theft.’’

He said the two soldiers released are Corporal Sulayman Sanyang from Clerk room and Sergeant Fafa Ceesay from the communication unit. He said they were released on 23th April 2020.

He said the other soldiers are still detained as investigation into the issue continues.

It could be recalled that several military guards who were on guard at the defence headquarters in Banjul on 8th April, were arrested after fuel coupons went missing at the aforesaid place.
