Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) football club last Thursday defeated Elite United by two goals to one in the country’s top-flight football league. The game was played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Sat ten-placed before this game on 4 points, the win earned the Khaki Boys 7 points, scoring 7 goals now and conceding 7 out of five matches played.

The Khaki Boys’ start to life in the first division league have not been impressive, with a win and draw before week-five and loss two matches. They have one of the poorest defences in the league so far, bettering only Banjul United (scored 9) and Elite United (scored 8) when it comes to conceding goals.

Elite United have now suffered their 4th defeat in the top-flight and won just once. Occupying 12th position on the table standings, Elite 3 times now and shipped in 8 goals out of five matches played.

Meanwhile, in another match that was played on the same day, unbeaten Brikama United were held by an inconsistent Steve Biko to a goalless draw at the Independence Stadium.
