Four Foreign Nationals Arrested for Plotting to Rob Someone from a Bank

The Police have recently arrested four people for allegedly tailing to rob someone leaving a bank around Senegambia.

Cadet Assistant Superintendent Binta Njie, the spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force, who confirmed this incident to Foroyaa, said the suspect was arrested with three other suspected accomplices.

“According to the information gathered, a man who was leaving Guaranty Trust Bank Branch at Senegambia, when he came out he saw someone who he suspected was monitoring his movement. When he left the bank and was driving towards Palma Rima Junction, he saw the suspect following him. He then reported the incident to the police and the police were able to arrest him (the suspect),” she narrated.

PRO Njie said after arresting the suspect, the police took the suspect to his residence to conduct a search, where they arrested three alleged accomplices who were allegedly communicating with the suspect.  

She said all the suspects are under police custody helping them on their investigations.

The police held a press briefing yesterday at the Kairaba Police Station concerning the arrest of four foreign nationals engaged in organized criminal activities in the Senegambia area.

“These individuals allegedly collaborated to target individuals leaving banks or forex bureaus, intending to rob them of their money. The suspects are currently in police custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The public is urged to remain vigilant, especially in similar circumstances,” the police explained.
