Relegated Finnish club Jaro has taken the Gambian national teamSam Jammeh 1
net-minder Sam Jammeh on trial, Foroyaa Sport can report.
Jammeh 23, is one of four players taken on an audition, hoping to
convince coaches they are worth being offered professional deals. The shot-stopper has been to a number of Swedish clubs latest being at
Sunne where he had a brief spell putting out a number of dazzling
performances there.
Sam’s career teed off in Finland with Vikingit before he decided to
cross the border to neighbouring Scandinavian country Sweden.
However, he’s now back in Finland this time with Jaro who spent the
previous season in the top flight. The goalie’s trial began this week and is
expected to go for at least a week or so.
Born in Finland to a Gambian father, Sam decided to commit his
international future to Gambia over his birth country and has been
called up to the Scorpions team numerous times.
He’s yet to make an official outing for the Gambia but got the nod
from the substitute bench in the one-all friendly draw against Uganda.
