Finance Minister to Brief NAMs on Annual Budget Implementation

The Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Seedy Keita, is scheduled to appear before lawmakers to deliver a ministerial statement on the implementation and monitoring of the annual budget.

This development was disclosed by the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly on the approved agenda for the Third Ordinary Session of the National Assembly slated for 9 to 27 September 2024.

The Office of the Clerk said the Minister of Justice Dawda Jallow will also appear before members of the Assembly for the continuation of the consideration of the Criminal Offences Bill, 2020, in line with Standing Order 72, and the first questions for oral answers is slated for Wednesday 11 September.

According to the Clerk’s office, the Vice President; Attorney General and Minister for Justice; the Minister for Fisheries and Water Resources; the Minister for Petroleum and Energy; the Minister for Lands, Regional government, and Religious Affairs; and the Minister for Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment are scheduled to appear to respond to questions relating to their respective Ministries.

“On Thursday 12th September 2024, the Assembly is slated to witness the laying of papers and reports of the Select Committee on Trade and Regional Integration’s tour to the Senegalese Parliament on Trade Facilitation for the period 13 to the 16 of May 2024,” the Office of the Clerk disclosed.

The office further said that on the same day, another report that the plenary is expected to deliberate on is the report of the Standing Committee on Public Enterprises’ Study Tour to the Parliament of Botswana for the period 23 to 27 of October, 2023.

The resolution on the Report of the National Assembly Petitions Committee on Petitions from concern Staff of the Gambia Tourism Board according to the Clerk’s Office, is another report that is expected to be laid before the legislature.

All these, according to the Clerk’s Office are expected to be laid by their respective Chairpersons, before the National Assembly Members for deliberation and necessary adoption.
