Operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency-The Gambia (DLEA-G), have seized significant quantities of cocaine and ecstasy pills at the Giboro and Amdalai border posts respectively.

The seizures happened on the heels of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the Agency’s interdiction capability to effectively bridle drugs, and address the drug situation in the country.

Ousman Saidyba, the Public Relations Officer of DLEA-G, said two suspects were arrested at the Amdalai border post while one was arrested in Giboro.

“The suspect arrested in Giboro is a 41-year-old Bissau Guinean national in the person of Aruna Cassama. He was arrested with eleven blocks of cocaine which he concealed in the trunk of a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle with registration number RGB 1077 CH,” he said.
