Court Awards Cost to Rongo

Justice Ruqata Oremei Ayoola of the Banjul High Court Annex has on Tuesday asked four (4) defendants to pay Two Thousand, Five Hundred Dalasi (D2,500) to Momodou Lamin Jarju allias Rongo.

The order came after they failed to appear in court and also failed to file their processes thereby wasting both the time of Rongo and the court.

The defendants in this suit are Isatou Sisaho 1st Defendant, Ebrima Jaiteh 2nd Defendant, Alieu Jabbie 3rd Defendant, Ally Owen’s 4th Defendant.

When the case was called before Justice Ruqata Oremei Ayoola on Tuesday 16th April 2024, Senior Lawyer Bory S. Touray appeared for Modou Lamin Jarju alias Rongo. Counsel B. Badjie appeared for the 1st and 2nd Defendants.

Counsel Borry S. Touray informed the court that, Rongo (his client) has ensured the defendants receive the processes.

The court, after verification from the records, confirmed that all the defendants had been served since March 2024.

Counsel Badjie for the 1st and 2nd defendants asked the court to give him time in order to respond to the processes served to his clients by Rongo.

The case was then adjourned to the 2nd of May 2024 at 12:30 pm.
