Gambia Female league Division One Champions Interior FC were, over the weekend, held by visiting Scottish Champions Interior held by GlasgowTeam Glasgow Girls FC.

Either halves failed to produce some flair as both sides settled on a drab stalemate. Interior looked little deadly in the opening stages but had the heat turned on them once the Scottish side acclimatized in the face of the scotching sun at the Brikama Box bar mini-stadium.

Katie Hay and Sam McManus forced the Interior goalkeeper into some scary saves but the home side stood firm.

Megan Logan was voted man of the match.

Earlier on GFC recovered from an early upset to beat second division side Jeshwang United 2-1 at the Brufut ground. They lost their first friendly to deposed female league champions Red Scorpions 2-0.

The game was allowed to stop every fifteen minutes to offer the visitors water breaks in the face of sweltering temperatures.

As part of their itinerary, the GFC squad had a watch on Kololi Monkey Park Sunday, on a day they were scheduled to take on Gambian female league champions Interior FC.

Earlier on, the Girls completed a day-long seminar on women football at the Goal Project in Yundum where they shared ideas with locals about the sport.

Brought to the Gambia by Adventure Kicks partnering the Gambia Football Federation, GFC are on a seven-day visit to the Gambia.

They face the Gambia women national team today at the SK East mini stadium.
