Capital rivals Banjul Utd, Wallidan in weekend clash

Fans will over the weekend be treated to another league adrenaline as foes Wallidan aims bullet at new and Capital rivals Banjul Utdemerging Banjul United.

The must-watch contest to be staged at the Banjul mini-stadium artificial turf, will be the second battle between teams from the country’s administrative capital after Gamtel beat Wallidan to the Super Cup on penalties earlier.

The Blue Boys finished three places above the drop and will eye going miles better this time with start of the new season but must first stroll over Banjul United who are pushovers.

United won the FA Cup in their first attempt season before last pulling off numerous upsets along the way. They will sure try to redo that feat hoping Wallidan becomes their first subjected victim on Saturday.

Bombada who finished sixth after making the climb from the second tier last term get it on with Steve Biko on the same day as the match above but at the Brikama mini-stadium.

Bombada peeled off shocking results and at one point topped the standings in the first round only to come down on an almost free fall pace.

The gaffer will be preoccupied building from where they left off to turn the club’s title pretenders status to contenders of a genuine stock.

Gambia Armed Forces take on Samger at the SK East Park also on the same day.

On Sunday Brikama face Serrekunda United in Brikama while Gamtel face off Real de Banjul at SK East – a meeting of last season title contenders – with Gambia Ports Authority tussling Hawks in Banjul.
