By Sulayman Bah Pic: Ebou Secka of the NSC National sporting associations will soon be offered space for offices at the Independence Stadium, revealed the National Sports Council. Dozens of affiliate sporting associations are faced with problems of securing an office with only a few headquartered in the capital. The problem, according to many, boils down to finance as most sporting associations rely on funding from the NOC, government or respective affiliate international federations. A recent requirement in the NSC standard rules which stipulates the securing of an office as one of its criteria has left many affiliate national associations in default. However, the Council has now decided to step in to address this need for associations to be provided with office space at the Independence Stadium complex with the furniture already in place. “National Sports Council is trying to provide offices for sporting associations. We’re working it out. We already have the furniture. Instruments are available so we’re just trying to provide the space at the Independence Stadium. Sporting associations have no money,’ NSC’s Ebou Secka told Foroyaa Sport. This development came in the wake of the recent brouhaha surrounding wrestling in the country and in which some stakeholders challenged the Wrestling Association for failing to secure an office.
