BREAKING: Deputy Police PRO Confirms Death of One Yankuba Jarju In Foni

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of The Gambia Police Force, C/ASP Muhammed Y. Darboe, has confirmed the death of one Yankuba Jarju, who is believed to be from Gefenga village in Foni.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force said the incident occurred at a forest in Cassamance close to Jabijorr village.

“The story is developing as we continue to receive information regarding the tragic incident,” he said.

According to Deputy PRO Darboe, one Lamin Jarju, an eyewitness to this incident, reported the matter at the Sibanor Police Station and said three of them (Bakary Gibba, Yankuba Jarju, and himself), went to a forest to fetch firewood around Jabijorr village.

According to Lamin Jarju, they were scattered in the forest, and while fetching firewood, he saw a drone but later heard gunshots. He said this was the time they rushed to the scene and found Yankuba dead with his head hit by a bullet.

DPRO Darboe said investigations are still on-going and promised to update this medium of any new development.
