Barrow signs new four-year deal with Swansea

Modou Barrow 4 league club Swansea City. The 22-year-old joined the Swans November last year from Swedish second tier side Ostersunds on loan. His loan deal with an option to a permanent one was due to expire this Januray before the club board offered the attacker new long-term contract that will see him stay until 2018. Barrow’s permanent acquisition comes on the back of his impressive displays for the Wales-based club. Modou who’s yet to be capped with the Gambia, elevation to the A-tea followed his outstanding performances with the Swans’ U-21s. Making his debut against Arsenal, the ex- Norkopping ace has been trusted enough and is seen by gaffer Monk a crucial inclusion testament of it been his addition in the games against Manchester City and recently Tranmere Rovers. Speaking to the club, the dangerous left-footer said: ‘It’s great to sign the new contract. It was an easy decision. I came here until January initially, but now I can settle for the next four years. My girlfriend and I really like it here and we are really happy. I was delighted to sign the contract. It’s been amazing to play for the first-team since joining in the summer. I have tried to work as hard as possible in training and when I’ve been given my chance, but I know I must keep working for further opportunities.’]]>
